COD helmets

Just a bunch of helmet variations I created for Call of Duty franchise some time ago.

A range of intimidating character masks designed to be menacing, gritty, versatile, and distinguishable across units. Unique masks were designed for each unit using the same design language so that players of the online multiplayer games could easily recognize each unit member, thus resulting in a better gaming experience. The helmet design closes off the full face so players could battle in outer space or in a poisoned territory. The sizes of the visors were varied and the ‘eyes’ were hidden to achieve an intimidating and unnerving effect. The nose guards and overall face geometry was manipulated to have a ‘skull’ effect. Concept art and design covered the full range of characters in the game including pilots, medics, spies, infantry, anti-air and anti-tank specialists. I wish they included all of them in the game but only four or five got in the final release.

Art direction on that project was fully driven by Mike Andrew Nash. I worked with Mike on two projects - the other one is Horizon Zero Dawn. It is very sad we lost him and nothing can bring him back and I miss the happy times badly. He was a true genius.
